Even though it was a gray day we decided to let Felix 'bike' to the market. It was fairly early for the real market crowd (although les marchands had been there quite a long time already) and this coupled with the weather, left the streets empty. Our little town blocks off most of the streets surrounding the market building on market days and it turned out to be a great place to bike.
And he has finally started to lift his feet and glide with the bike! We hesitated in 'buying' it because we try to buy as little as possible (more about that in a post to come) but I think this purchase was definitely worth it. Whether in the forest or in the city, this bike rolls well - keeping Felix moving at our pace or even faster. (And hopefully it will mean that we can avoid training wheels in the future!)
P.S. The battery for my D70 was dead so I threw my old Canon Powershot S200 in my backpack. I picked this little guy up in 2001and still now, even with it's 2 mega pixels, it takes great photos. (With a little help from Lightroom, of course...)
The day sounds wonderful. What fun to pedal around town, or at least push.

A wonderful purchase indeed! (The bike, though the camera is great too!)

Ahhh, these bikes seem like such a great idea. My older child's got training wheels already but I think for the younger we're going to try to snag a used one from his cousin. Looking fwd to your post about not buying lots (smile). Love the colors in your shot.

Thanks for your comments everyone! :)
misschrisc - You took the pedals off? Shh..don't tell my husband. That was his idea but we couldn't find any bikes that looked small enough for Felix. We caved in and got this one instead. Was it easy to take the pedals off?

We were given the bike by a neighbor who felt sorry for Little S for not having a bike. Silly because we just hadn't found the need to get such a young boy a bike--there's lots of pressure to get kids things they don't need.
Anyway it was a good size so we deplastified it (haha) and spent hours taking the pedals off. It's truly his favorite thing right now.
